About me
The Katie Moments is a collection of stories and reflections that come from embracing a strategically authentic approach to work and life.
Strategic authenticity is when you genuinely believe different is powerful and you choose to be you. You accept you may be misunderstood, judged and that people’s perceptions of you may not align with your truth. Despite that, you believe your potential for having a greater impact and happiness is worth it.
For as long as I can remember, I have always gravitated toward different. Perhaps it is simply because I love learning new things, but I suspect it is more because I myself identify as being different. Different in the way I think, absorb and engage the world around me.
Parts of me “fit in” with various environments and people, but rarely does my whole authentic self fit. I used to struggle with this, but after many years of reflection I am now grateful for it. It provides me unique perspective, allows me to bridge communication gaps and brings amazing humans into my life.
The more I share of myself, the more I realize I am not alone in my thinking. It was this realization that inspired me to start this blog (and the fact that I think WAY too much and need a creative outlet!) My goal is to positively impact others through laughter, understanding and knowledge sharing.
You will find three buckets of content –
- Ideas, perspectives & reflections – Thoughts around business, personal philosophies, knowledge and experience shares.
- Embracing humility & laugher – My life tends to be pretty humorous. I provide plenty of opportunities to laugh at myself (“The Katie Moments”), as well as frequently find myself in situations that I could not make up if I tried.
- “Other” – As Forest Gump’s momma said, “Life is like a box a chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna to get,” and this section is just that. It includes such things as articles/book/podcast recommendations, cool product finds, crafting projects, etc.
Please take a twirl around and see what posts connect with you. I encourage you to reflect, laugh and explore what living a Strategically Authentic life could mean for you too!
